1. Introduction
Prosperity ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: Your name, email address, and (if applicable) Google profile data when you sign in via Google OAuth.
- Financial data: Transactions, bills, debts, savings goals, and budget limits you enter into the app — either manually or imported via our bank connection feature (powered by Teller). Bank connections are read-only; we never initiate transactions on your behalf.
- Payment information: Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We store only your Stripe Customer ID and subscription status — never your full card details.
- Usage data: Basic analytics such as pages visited and features used, used to improve the Service.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide and operate the Service.
- To process subscription payments via Stripe.
- To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset).
- To improve features and fix bugs.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your financial data for advertising.
4. AI Assistant & Data Processing
When you use the AI Assistant feature, a snapshot of your financial data (monthly income, expenses, category totals, bill status, debt balances, and savings goal progress) is sent to Anthropic's API for processing. This data is used solely to generate your insights or answer your question and is not stored by Anthropic beyond the duration of the API request, in accordance with their privacy policy. You can use the app without the AI Assistant if you prefer not to share your data with Anthropic.
5. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored in Supabase, hosted on AWS infrastructure with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit (TLS 1.2+). We apply row-level security policies so that you can only ever access your own data.
Despite our security measures, no system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security but take commercially reasonable steps to protect your information.
6. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Supabase — database & authentication ( privacy policy)
- Stripe — payment processing ( privacy policy)
- Teller — read-only bank account connection ( privacy policy)
- Anthropic Claude — AI assistant features (privacy policy)
- Vercel — hosting & edge functions ( privacy policy)
7. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to maintain your authenticated session. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You may disable cookies in your browser, but this will prevent you from staying signed in.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data (right to be forgotten).
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent at any time.

9. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal and financial data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or tax purposes.
10. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
